Fort Shevchenko is a military-base town and administrative in Mangistau region on the eastern shore of Caspian Sea.
Tamshaly (Tamshali) valley and canyon : 35 km from Fort Shevchenko,you will find a very little corner of Paradise called Tamshali, which means "merry thaw" in Kazakh. This is a valley covered with a small lake and willow and poplar trees in the middle of the arid steppe.
