Lyon - Beaujolais
Lyon is the official capital of gastronomy in France. A charming city nestled between the rivers Rhone and Saone, Lyon is located in the Rhone Alps region which begins in the south east of the country. With the Beaujolais vineyards located to the North and the Cotes du Rhone vineyards South, you will delight in the spectacle of vintage wine and haute cuisine that has become accustomed to by the locals. Lyon is sometimes described as the oldest city in France, founded by the Romans in 43 bc, in the fifteenth century Lyon became the European trade capital and attracted traders from all over Europe and Asia. Expect to see beautiful villages, you can get a perfect view of the basilique de Fourviere from the most famous square or Place of Lyon, la place Bellecour, and delight in wine collections and food (Saucisson Lyonnais, Praline pie ..) .
