Malta
Malta is an archipelago country in the Mediterranean Sea that lies south of the island of Sicily and is composed of three largest islands (Malta, Ghawdex or Gozo, and Kemmuna) being inhabited.
From its North African and Arabic influences to the Sicilian-inspired cuisine, Malta is a microcosm of the Mediterranean and is also famous for the Knights Hospitaller, also known as the Knights of St John who were among the most famous of the Western Christian military orders during the Middle Ages. Few European countries have such concentrated history, architecture and, yes, beaches in so tiny an area.
