Jebel Akhdar mountain range
Nizwa is dominated by the massive Nizwa Fort, a circular structure some 35 meters high and with a diameter of 46 meters, which housed the Nizwa souq.
Around Nizwa, you can drive (4WD) to the foothills of the Jebel Akhdar mountain range and admire beautiful landscapes. Jebel Akhdar, ‘Green Mountain’, as it is popularly dubbed, offers discovery, adventure and a fascinating insight into the life in one of the most inaccessible places in the Sultanate.
