Safaris - Wildlife - Malaysia - Borneo

Borneo is a very large island in Southeast Asia’s Malay Archipelago and is shared by the Malaysian states Sabah and Sarawak, Indonesian Kalimantan and the tiny nation of Brunei. It’s known for its beaches and ancient, biodiverse rainforest, home to wildlife including orangutans and clouded leopards.
Kinabatangan River is the second longest river in Malaysia and is a paradise for rare animals that have lost their native habitats due to logging and palm plantations. Considered by many to be the best place for viewing wildlife in Borneo (Wild orangutans, rare proboscis monkeys, endangered birds...).  In 2006 the Kinabatangan area was officially declared a wildlife sanctuary to prevent further loss of habitat.
