URUGUAY      

Uruguay is a country in the southeastern region of South America. It is bordered by Argentina to its west and Brazil to its north and east, with the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Uruguay is home to 3.5 million people, of whom 1.9 million live in the metropolitan area of its capital city, Montevideo. 

 It is, after Suriname, the second-smallest country in South America.

Due to its strategic position near the mouth of the Río de la Plata, Uruguay's territory was hotly contested from the arrival of the first Europeans, but independence was won in 1828.
