Dallas is a city in the U.S. state of Texas and the most populous city in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, the most populous metropolitan area in Texas.
- San Antonio is  the most populous city in Greater San Antonio, the third-largest metropolitan area in Texas.  Founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, the city in 1731 became the first chartered civil settlement in what is now present-day Texas. The city contains five 18th-century Spanish frontier missions, including the Alamo and San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. Together these were designated as UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2015.
- Houston is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas. Located in Southeast Texas near Galveston Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
- During the 19th century, Galveston became a major U.S. commercial center and one of the largest ports in the United States. It was, for a time, Texas' largest city, known as the "Queen City of the Gulf". Today Gavelston is a charming old town visited by many tourists from Houston.
